Special Ruling Decree revising changes in succession that took place June 14, 2003

We, Saqr b. Mohammed Al Qasimi - Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and its dependents
After examining the Constitution of the government of the United Arab Emirates, and in steps taken by us to correct flaws issuing from enacting the decree for changing the line of succession that took place on June 14, 2003, and desiring to unify the Ruling family in the Emirate for the future of both this family and the Emirate, and whereas it is necessary for the public interest of the Country and its people.
We have decreed the following:
- That the introduction be considered an inseparable part of the Decree
- That our eldest progeny, His Highness Sheikh Khalid b. Saqr Al Qasimi return as successor to the throne as it was before, and that his return be considered an extension of the period of succession that he occupied until June, 14, 2003.
- That our progeny, Sheikh Sa’ud b. Saqr Al Qasimi be appointed vice to the successor.
- That this decree be considered as nullifying the previous decree on changes to the succession.
- That this decree be effective by this date and that it be published in the official newspaper.
